Kuwait’s armed forces said Tuesday evening that air-defense systems were engaging hostile aerial targets inside the country’s airspace. The General Staff said any explosion sounds came from interceptions of hostile attacks and asked the public to follow official safety instructions. The military did not identify who launched the attack, what weapons were involved, how many targets entered Kuwaiti airspace or whether the interceptions caused damage or casualties. The new defensive action came amid renewed U.S. strikes on Iran and continuing Iranian retaliation across Gulf states, but Kuwaiti authorities had not attributed this wave at publication time.
