Teen Taken to ER After Finding Glass-Like Pieces in Tapuchips Bag

A 15-year-old girl from Yakir was taken to Beilinson Hospital after eating from a sealed multipack bag of Tapuchips and finding hard pieces she said resembled glass. Her mother said an X-ray and gastroscopy found no foreign material, though the teenager continued to report pain and scratching. The multipack had been purchased at a Rami Levy branch in Ariel. Strauss contacted the family and said it would collect the product for examination; the company's preliminary assessment was that the pieces were hardened, crystallized potato starch rather than glass.
