B’nai Brith Records 27 Violent Antisemitic Incidents in Canada This Year

Royal Canadian Mounted Police

B’nai Brith Canada’s preliminary 2026 data records 27 violent antisemitic incidents since January 1, more than double the 10 documented in all of 2025. The total rose from 11 incidents in its May early release and already exceeds the annual counts for 2022, 2024 and 2025, ranking second only to 2023. The organization linked the latest increase to July 3 attacks on Hasidic Jewish men returning from Shabbat services in Montreal’s Outremont neighborhood. It urged Canada’s federal government to create a national antisemitism task force, strengthen anti-hate enforcement and improve law-enforcement coordination.
