Trump Says Iran Wants a Meeting and May Be Ready to Settle

President Donald Trump said Iran wants to meet with the United States and may be ready to compromise as American strikes continue. Speaking Wednesday at a defense summit in Pennsylvania, Trump said Washington would determine whether to settle with Tehran or finish the conflict, without announcing a meeting date or terms. His remarks followed a third U.S. strike wave in 24 hours against Iranian military targets threatening shipping around the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, said Tehran would pursue negotiations while continuing to resist U.S. pressure.
