Mediators Offer Iran 10-Day Ceasefire to Revive U.S. Interim Deal
Mediators have presented Iran with a proposal for a 10-day ceasefire aimed at de-escalating the war with the United States and reviving last month's interim agreement, according to a senior Iranian official. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei separately confirmed Tehran had received proposals through mediators but declined to disclose their details. He said diplomatic efforts were continuing alongside Iran's military response and rejected claims that the interim memorandum contained ambiguous provisions. The proposal emerged as fighting around the Strait of Hormuz continued and mediators worked to prevent further escalation.
