Rubio Keeps Iran Diplomacy Open as Ninth U.S. Strike Night Continues
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States remains open to a diplomatic solution with Iran. CENTCOM said it began a new wave of strikes at 7 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, opening the ninth consecutive night of the American campaign. The command said the strikes would continue degrading Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Rubio kept the diplomatic option open while the strikes continued, but his statement did not announce renewed talks, a timetable or proposed terms.
