Iran Says U.S. Struck Darkhovin Nuclear Plant Under Construction

Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said the United States fired several projectiles at the Darkhovin nuclear power plant site in Khuzestan at about 3:39 a.m. local time Sunday. The organization said the plant is still under construction and described it as a safeguarded civilian nuclear facility. Its statement condemned the strike and said work toward completing Iran's domestic nuclear program would continue. The announcement did not identify the weapons used, report casualties or damage, or provide a radiation assessment, and the shipped sources contained no independent confirmation of the Iranian claim.
