U.S. Completes Iran Strike Wave Against Command and Missile Sites
U.S. Central Command said it completed another round of strikes against Iran at 9 p.m. Eastern time on July 20. The strikes hit Iranian military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air-defense systems, with the stated aim of reducing attacks on commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM said its forces have helped approximately 900 commercial vessels carrying 450 million barrels of crude oil transit the waterway since early May. The command said American forces remain positioned to respond to Iranian aggression against civilian mariners.
