Committee Extends Security for Sara Netanyahu and Sons

The Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs approved extended state protection for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife Sara and their sons Yair and Avner. Netanyahu will receive lifelong protection, Sara Netanyahu will be protected for as long as her husband lives, and the sons will retain protection for five years after his term ends, regardless of the October 27 election result. The decision followed security assessments that the family faces a lasting threat from enemies seeking revenge for Israeli wartime operations. Protection for relatives of other current and former prime ministers will be reviewed separately according to threat assessments.
