Fiji Launches Parliamentary Israel Allies Caucus

Fiji launched a parliamentary Israel Allies Caucus in Suva, naming Deputy Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka as its first chair. The group will connect Fijian lawmakers with Israel’s Knesset and a global network of more than 60 parliamentary caucuses, while advancing bilateral cooperation and opposition to antisemitism and boycott campaigns. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Israeli Ambassador Maya Yaron and faith-based diplomacy leaders attended the launch. Gavoka said the caucus would deepen diplomatic ties and expand dialogue on economic development and other fields after Fiji opened its embassy in Jerusalem and Israel opened an embassy in Suva.
