Shapir Wins Tender for 22-Kilometer Highway 6 Northern Extension

An interministerial tender committee selected Shapir Civil and Marine Engineering to finance, build, operate and maintain the next northern section of Highway 6. The roughly 22-kilometer toll-road extension will run from Somekh Interchange to Beit HaEmek and add three interchanges at I'billin, Makr and Beit HaEmek. Construction investment is estimated at about NIS 2 billion, with work scheduled to begin in 2027 and traffic opening planned for 2030. Shapir said the 34-year concession remains subject to financial closing and estimated the project's total construction-and-operation scope at about NIS 12 billion.
