Armed Men Seize Chemical Tanker in Gulf of Aden Off Yemen

Armed men boarded and seized the chemical tanker Asana in the Gulf of Aden about 65 nautical miles south of Al Mukalla, Yemen, maritime security sources said Friday. The vessel was sailing east toward Bosaso, Somalia, and tracking data did not show a verified flag registration. Britain's UK Maritime Trade Operations said unauthorized persons boarded a vessel at the same location while military authorities investigated. No information was released about the crew's condition, and responsibility remained unclear; no source attributed the incident to the Iran-backed Houthis.
