Haifa Shooting Seriously Wounds 23-Year-Old Man

Haifa police opened an investigation after a 23-year-old man was shot on Abbas Street late Friday night. Medical authorities described him as seriously wounded, and he was evacuated to Rambam Health Care Campus for treatment. Officers began searches for suspects after receiving the report. Police said their initial assessment was that the shooting had a criminal background; the first report, published at 11:53 p.m. Israel time, did not identify the victim, name a suspect or report an arrest at the time.
