U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Washington after the latest round of Israel-Lebanon talks concluded in Italy. The Lebanese presidency confirmed the meeting ended and said Aoun's U.S. visit would address Lebanon's situation, strengthening the ceasefire, restoring security in the south, Israeli withdrawal and extending state authority nationwide. Aoun is due to meet President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday. The visit is the first by a Lebanese president to the United States since 2009, according to a State Department official.
