Israel-Lebanon Pilot Zone Operations Begin in Three Southern Villages
Pilot-zone operations under the U.S.-brokered Israel-Lebanon framework began Monday in Froun, Srifa and Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh, the U.S. State Department said. The three southern Lebanese villages are operating under the Trilateral Framework and the auspices of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon. Washington described the launch as a direct result of last week's discussions between Israeli and Lebanese representatives in Rome. The State Department said the United States will continue working closely with both parties to implement the framework through to a successful conclusion.
