Lebanese Army Says IDF Fire Could Delay Pilot-Zone Deployment

The Lebanese Army said Israeli forces fired near its units as they deployed in Zawtar al-Gharbiyeh in the Nabatieh district on Tuesday. The army said the shooting could disrupt deployment steps in the pilot zones coordinated through the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon. Its statement reported no casualties, and no immediate IDF response was included in the initial report. The deployment began after Israeli forces left the area; Lebanese engineering teams were inspecting streets for explosives and weapons remnants. The U.S. State Department announced Monday that pilot-zone operations had started in Froun, Srifa and Zawtar under the Israel-Lebanon framework.
