Yudi Herzberg said more than 2,630 people have pledged acts of reconciliation through Shalom for Charlotte, the campaign created after his eight-year-old daughter was killed in an accidental collision in Monsey, New York. Herzberg embraced the close friend who was driving and continued their daily Torah study, saying the family would not allow the tragedy to destroy their bond. The campaign asks participants to forgive someone or repair a broken relationship in Charlotte's memory. Herzberg renewed the initiative before Tisha B'Av, linking its message to Jewish teachings about communal strife and unity.
