Trump and Burnham Discuss Hormuz Demining in First Call
U.S. President Donald Trump said his first call with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham covered demining the Strait of Hormuz, defense ties, trade and North Sea oil. Burnham's office said he committed Britain to defense and security and to supporting the safe reopening of the strait for global shipping. Trump said the leaders would meet in the not-too-distant future, without giving a date. The discussion came as the U.S.-Iran war and attacks on commercial shipping continued to disrupt the strategic waterway and drive up energy prices.
