U.S.-Iran War Cost Reaches $37.5 Billion, Hegseth Says
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told the Senate Appropriations Committee that the war against Iran has cost the United States $37.5 billion so far, up from a nearly $29 billion estimate in mid-May. He said the figure includes projected costs through September. Hegseth defended a request for about $67 billion in supplemental Pentagon funding, calling it an urgent injection for immediate military needs. He warned that without the additional money, the armed forces could face shortfalls affecting training, service-member pay, fuel, replacement equipment and munitions production.
