Yashar Leads Likud 24-23 as Eisenkot Tops Netanyahu on Suitability

A new election poll put Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar first with 24 projected Knesset seats, one ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud on 23. Naftali Bennett's Together fell to 15, while the Zionist opposition parties totaled 59 seats, the governing bloc 51 and Arab parties 10, leaving neither Zionist bloc with a 61-seat majority. Eisenkot led Netanyahu 43% to 37% on suitability for prime minister, while Netanyahu led Bennett 39% to 35%. Midgam surveyed 507 Israeli adults on July 20 by internet and telephone; the maximum sampling error was 4.4 percentage points.
