U.S. Sanctions Four People and Nine Firms in Iranian Financier's Network

The United States imposed sanctions Friday on four people and nine companies tied to Iranian financier Babak Zanjani's sanctions-evasion network. The measures target Iran-based Dot One businesses in gold, aviation, rail, travel and barter, plus financial and diamond firms in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. U.S. officials said the network obscured ownership, laundered revenue and moved funds covertly for Iran, including support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The action expands January sanctions on Zanjani and his Zedcex and Zedxion digital-asset exchanges amid renewed U.S. economic pressure on Tehran.
