U.S. Sanctions Muslim Brotherhood Official and Hamas Financial Networks
The U.S. Treasury sanctioned UK-based Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leader Mahmoud al-Abyari, three other individuals and three entities for supporting Hamas. Treasury said Indonesia-based Tujah Bulah Global and Gaza-based Madad Palestine Charitable Society were Hamas-created fronts that raised money for its military wing, including funds presented as civilian relief. Türkiye-based El-Kahira for General Trading transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars for Hamas and provided underground banking services in fiat and cryptocurrency. U.S.-linked property is blocked and transactions involving the designated parties are generally prohibited.
