World Climbing Shelves Vote on Suspending Israel's Federation

World Climbing's Extraordinary General Assembly declined to hold separate votes on suspending the Israel Climbing Association and the federations of Russia and Belarus. Delegates approved a unified motion submitted by Australia, Cyprus and the United States that replaces country-specific votes with a future principles-based framework grounded in governance criteria, proportionality and non-discrimination. The body said no recommendation was made to suspend any federation and athletes' current eligibility remains unchanged. Allegations involving the Israeli and Russian federations will go to the Disciplinary Commission, a referral that carries no finding or immediate consequence.
