Route 5504 Bus Collision Kills 18-Year-Old, Seriously Injures Another

A collision between a private car and a bus on Route 5504 near Kibbutz Nir Eliyahu killed an 18-year-old driver Monday evening. Magen David Adom said the crash was reported at 6:28 p.m. and that rescue crews extricated the trapped driver before medics pronounced him dead from a severe head injury. Another 18-year-old passenger was evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in serious condition with head and limb injuries. The bus driver was taken to Meir Medical Center with minor injuries, and fire crews used hydraulic equipment during the extraction.
