Trump Gives Iran Talks More Time, Keeps Military Option Open

U.S. President Donald Trump said he paused strikes on Iran to give negotiations another chance after mediators asked for time. He said Washington is in very deep talks with Tehran and warned that if they fail, the United States could return to very strong military action. The current discussions are focused on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and restarting negotiations toward a comprehensive nuclear agreement. The statement came one day before Trump is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, with Iran expected to lead their agenda.
