Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of IDF soldiers in helmets and tactical gear moving through a dark building toward a bright doorway

IDF troops operating in the Bayta villages area under the Samaria Brigade encountered a driver who accelerated his vehicle toward their force, according to the military. The army said the attacker ignored repeated calls to stop. Soldiers then carried out an arrest procedure that included gunfire, neutralizing him. No Israeli troops were injured. The initial statement did not identify the attacker, state his condition, specify the operational mission, or say whether anyone else was in the vehicle; no additional investigation details were immediately released.
