Trump’s Reported Iran Strike Order Draws Conflicting U.S. Accounts

U.S. officials gave conflicting accounts on whether President Donald Trump has ordered a new wave of attacks on Iran. A Wall Street Journal account cited officials saying he approved a several-day campaign that could begin this weekend and seeks to force Tehran’s surrender. Israel National News also relayed a CBS account saying U.S. and Israeli officials were preparing attacks on Iranian energy infrastructure but no final execution order had been given. At a televised Camp David cabinet meeting, Trump said the United States would hit Iran hard, while the White House said Iran would not obtain a nuclear weapon under his watch.
