Liberman Says Israel Cannot Let Others Speak for It on Iran

Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman said Iran was stalling and remained unwilling to abandon its nuclear program, its position on the Strait of Hormuz, or support for regional proxies. The former defense minister criticized President Donald Trump’s announcement that the planned Iran strike would be canceled and that Israel was joining the diplomatic commitment. Liberman said others should not speak for Israel and described the country’s loss of decision-making autonomy as unacceptable. His comments came after Trump said Israel had joined efforts to secure a rapid agreement with Iran.
