Trump Cancels Planned Iran Strike, Says Israel Joins Deal Push

President Donald Trump said the United States canceled a planned attack on Iran after Tehran and other Middle Eastern governments asked Washington to hold off. He said the pause is conditional on quickly reaching an agreement that includes the immediate, complete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat. Trump added that Israel joined the commitment, after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had urged him to avoid a massive escalation. The announcement reverses hours of heightened regional concern while leaving military action possible if negotiations fail.
