Review Challenges B’Tselem’s Classifications of West Bank Minors

Israel Academia Monitor’s review of B’Tselem’s June report alleged that casualty classifications and age counts conflict with the report’s own data. The review cited militant martyr posters and footage to identify some teenagers as members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad or Hamas and others as firebomb throwers. B’Tselem’s report counted 54 Palestinians under 18 killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank in 2025 and said it could not verify or refute military claims in 12 cases. The accounts diverge over several individual classifications and some age totals.
