U.S.-Iran Talks to Resume Monday Afternoon, Trump Says

President Donald Trump said renewed U.S.-Iran negotiations will begin Monday afternoon, with the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program at the center of the talks. Speaking aboard Air Force One, he said Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar urged Washington to cancel planned strikes because they believed an agreement was within reach. Trump said the United States remains ready to act militarily at any time if diplomacy fails. The talks follow Iran's public rejection of earlier claims that Tehran requested a strike pause, leaving the status of any Hormuz understanding disputed.
