Finance Committee Approves $75 Million for Haredi and Tekuma Programs

Israel's Knesset Finance Committee approved roughly $75 million in coalition-fund transfers during a marathon session Tuesday on changes to the 2026 budget. The approved allocations include $7.2 million for preventing dropout from yeshivas, $4.5 million to expand afternoon-program subsidies in Haredi institutions, and $3.5 million for Haredi Jewish culture. Another $4.2 million will expand support for Torah institutions operating in the Tekuma region near Gaza. The High Court is scheduled to review all 40 budget transfers Wednesday, while the committee's session remained active when the report was published.
