Ramat Gan Deputy Mayor Israel Zari Joins Eisenkot's Yashar Party

Ramat Gan Deputy Mayor Israel Zari has joined Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, the party announced Tuesday. Eisenkot cited Zari’s municipal experience, his work to strengthen local government and expand opportunities for young Israelis, and his advocacy for equal rights for the LGBTQ community. Zari, 36, was elected to the Ramat Gan City Council in 2018 after founding an independent youth list and later became the city’s first openly LGBTQ elected official. He currently leads the Diamond Exchange District Administration and said he was entering national politics to promote responsible, unifying leadership.
