31,000 Israelis Activate Vehicle-Transfer Fraud Block in First Day

More than 31,000 Israeli vehicle owners activated the Transport Ministry's new fraud-prevention block within 24 hours of its launch. The digital control prevents ownership transfers at post-office branches unless the registered owner removes it through the government personal area, while secure online transfers remain available. The ministry introduced the tool after identifying dozens of suspected fraudulent transfers involving stolen identities and forged documents. The first phase covers privately owned vehicles registered to one person; officials plan to expand it to jointly owned and company vehicles.
