Macron Calls Saudi Crown Prince on Regional Security and Maritime Navigation

French President Emmanuel Macron telephoned Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman early Friday, according to the official Saudi readout issued from Jeddah. The two leaders reviewed the latest regional developments and the efforts being made on them, contributing to security and stability in the region and to the security and freedom of maritime navigation. They also discussed bilateral relations, areas of joint cooperation and ways to develop them, along with regional and international issues of common interest. The call came with talks between Tehran and Washington stalled over maritime security and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
