Police to Update Speed-Camera Enforcement Thresholds Nationwide

Israel Police said updated enforcement thresholds for A-3 speed cameras will take effect nationwide in the coming days. Traffic Division chief Maj. Gen. Haim Shmueli ordered the change after officials reviewed each camera’s road characteristics, traffic volumes, crash and casualty data, and risk level. Police said the thresholds will apply on roads and at intersections, with violations documented and citations sent directly to drivers. The force said the change is intended to focus enforcement where road users face greater danger, strengthen deterrence, and reduce fatal and serious crashes.
