Almog Cohen Announces Bid in Likud Primaries

Deputy minister Almog Cohen, a former Otzma Yehudit lawmaker, announced that he will compete in Likud's Knesset primaries. In a post on X, Cohen thanked Israelis for the opportunity to continue serving them and said he was confident they would stand with him as he had stood with them. He also thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his trust and their shared path. Ynet reported that Cohen's ties with Likud strengthened after he broke with Otzma Yehudit leader Itamar Ben Gvir and paired his vote with Netanyahu while the prime minister underwent surgery.
