Bennett Says Dery and Gafni Would Be Excluded From His Government

Former prime minister Naftali Bennett said Aryeh Dery and Moshe Gafni could not be part of a government he leads, arguing that their opposition has prevented Haredi enlistment. Bennett told 103FM that a draft evader would not sit in the cabinet and said Dery had encouraged young Haredi men, including those not studying Torah, not to enlist. He also said most of the 550,000 Israelis in Judea and Samaria are law-abiding citizens who serve in the reserves and pay taxes. Asked about a violent minority, he backed administrative detention where relevant and said attacks on civilians constitute terrorism.
