The IDF said it received information Tuesday night that Hamas was conducting a military drill in Gaza and responded by strengthening intelligence collection and attack readiness. The military said it did not identify terrorist operatives at any stage, changed neither force deployment nor control of the Yellow Line, and kept its rules of engagement unchanged. Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman separately alleged that about 50 Nukhba operatives rehearsed a raid on a Jewish community and that the political echelon prevented a strike. The IDF said troops remain required to neutralize any immediate threat.
