A drone was intercepted over Erbil in northern Iraq on Friday while flying above an area containing several hotels and consulates. The Kurdistan Region's counterterrorism service said no casualties were reported. The service did not identify who launched the drone, and officials did not announce a target or report damage from the interception. The incident was reported during wider regional hostilities involving Iran and attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, but no authority had attributed the Erbil drone to Iran or any other actor.
