A drone strike on a Kurdistan Freedom Party base near Erbil wounded eight members early Sunday, party military official Rebaz Sharifi said. Residents of Erbil also heard explosions from air-defense activity as attacks continued across Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region. No group claimed responsibility, and the report did not identify the drone's operator or provide the wounded members' conditions. Iran and Iran-backed Iraqi militias have previously attacked sites in the region, where U.S. forces and armed Iranian Kurdish opposition groups are present.
