Documents Show Israel Approved $10M Hamas Fuel Route After Sinwar Meeting

Confidential Israeli security records from October 2021 show that Israel approved advancing a Qatari mechanism to buy $10 million in fuel from Egypt and transfer it directly to a Hamas company, allowing proceeds or savings to fund salaries. Qatari envoy Mohammed al-Emadi presented the plan on October 17 and met Yahya Sinwar before meeting then-COGAT chief Ghassan Alian. The records say Israel approved moving forward on October 19. Naftali Bennett’s office said his government ended unrestricted cash suitcases, shifted two-thirds of the funds to food vouchers and one-third to fuel, and permitted worker entry only when security conditions allowed.
