Ben-Gvir Says Death Row Wing and Gallows Are Under Construction in Central Israel

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said Tuesday that a dedicated wing for prisoners sentenced to death has been under construction in central Israel in recent weeks, with a hanging facility planned at its center. He said it will include viewing cells letting victims and their families watch the procedure, and permits for bereaved families to visit the site. The Death Penalty for Terrorists Law passed its third reading on March 30 with 62 MKs in favor, prescribing execution by hanging carried out by the Israel Prison Service within 90 days of a final sentence. The Association for Civil Rights in Israel has petitioned the High Court against the law.
