Israeli aircraft struck the Hamas-run municipal police headquarters in central Gaza City on Wednesday afternoon. Casualty figures reported from Gaza diverged sharply, ranging from three to as many as nine killed, with all of the counts sourced to Hamas-run bodies and Arab media rather than an independent tally. A Saudi channel reported that the strike targeted a senior figure in Hamas's police force in Gaza. Palestinian reports said a further strike hit a motorcycle in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and killed one person. The identification of the police headquarters as the target came from the Hamas-run Palestinian Interior Ministry.
