Zamir Appoints Brig. Gen. Eliad Muati Project Officer After Katz Blocked His Promotion

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir appointed Brig. Gen. Eliad Muati as a Ground Forces project officer, a post that does not require the defense minister's signature. The IDF said Muati completed a year commanding the National Ground Training Center at Tze'elim last week and will go on leave first. Defense Minister Israel Katz had declined to approve his promotion to command Division 210 over responsibility for October 7, when Muati had led the Border Defense Corps for about a week. The Turgeman Committee, which examined the officers' conduct, found no bar to promotion. The appointment keeps Muati in uniform for a possible division command under a future defense minister.
