Israel Demands Remains of Israelis Fallen in Lebanon Since 1975 in Beirut Talks

Israel has made the return of the remains of Israelis who fell in Lebanon since 1975 a condition in the framework negotiations with Beirut, a demand the Lebanese side regards as difficult. The two sides have begun exchanging lists of prisoners, and Lebanon does not intend to leave the talks despite continuing disagreements. September 1 is under consideration for the next round in Rome, though no date has been confirmed. Hezbollah still refuses to withdraw from the Ali al-Taher ridge and hand it to the Lebanese Army, even though Israel agreed to the transfer. Italy, Britain and Switzerland are being weighed for a monitoring body.
