Leaders of Seven Countries Demand Israel Withdraw E1 Construction Tenders

The leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada and Norway called on Israel to withdraw its E1 construction tenders immediately. In a joint statement, they described the plan as unacceptable and said it would damage West Bank territorial contiguity and the prospects for a two-state solution. They warned companies against bidding, citing possible legal and reputational consequences. The seven leaders said proceeding with the plan would further undermine Israel’s international standing and urged the government to retract it.
