Iran Conditions IAEA Access to Bombed Nuclear Sites on New Protocols

Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization chief Mohammad Eslami said IAEA inspections of nuclear sites damaged in the 2026 war cannot resume until a dedicated protocol is created and access complies with parliamentary legislation. He said Iran remains in wartime conditions and the damaged sites are not yet secure. Eslami alleged that U.S. and Israeli calls for inspections seek to assess strike results, and criticized the agency for not condemning attacks on safeguarded facilities. Unaffected sites remain under safeguards, while the IAEA cannot independently verify the damaged facilities or the nuclear material there.
