Aoun Asks Greece to Help Implement Israel-Lebanon Framework

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun asked Greece to help ensure full implementation of the U.S.-sponsored Israel-Lebanon framework during meetings in Athens. Aoun said both sides must implement the agreement without selectivity, with a complete Israeli withdrawal proceeding alongside exclusive Lebanese state control of territory through its official armed forces. He said negotiations with Israel are intended to end the state of hostility and that diplomacy, rather than war, offers the solution. Aoun also argued that Lebanon’s stability is necessary for stability across the region and Europe.
