Agriculture and Finance Ministries Sign NIS 100 Million Sheep-Dairy Reform

The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry and Finance Ministry signed a reform for Israel’s sheep-and-goat dairy sector, directing about NIS 100 million to growers from 2027 through 2030. Permanent annual support will exceed NIS 20 million beginning in 2031, with farms in peripheral areas eligible for up to 20% more. The framework abolishes tariffs on sheep-and-goat cheeses and replaces production quotas with direct support and competition through a transition mechanism. The ministries project about NIS 60 million in annual consumer savings, while also funding research, milk quality, productivity and farm efficiency.
